Something suddenly feels warm around your hand; takes you a split second to notice Draco is returning his hand back again on yours. He clutched down and pulled you lower just behind a big dark tree. You Nox'd your wand in a hurry.

"Peril time?"

"No Pansy's around, mind." Draco groaned in perhaps, a realization of similarity in your tone when you said that and the one you had always been using when you knew Pansy is nearby. You had a bit of struggling to see what's coming up since it's pitch-black ahead, the darkness putting great pressure around your eyes. The surrounding feels strangely colder at this point and there's something in the air that makes you feel terribly uneasy and wish to go back home. Draco's hand closed up on yours so tight you don't think you can remove it any second now, but at least it helps you handle your mind. It's just making you freeze out of fear when you hear a crackling sound of branches and greasy leaves being stepped on not too far ahead of you two. The fog isn't making the sight any clearer by not lifting. This isn't good.

"Heard that?" Draco whispered.

"As clear as you did," You shut your eyes for a few seconds and open it again, as though it could make the surroundings more brighter. "So what is it? Centaurs?"
You guessed because despite the lack of light, you can see a moving faint shadow of a four-legged creature dissolving on the ground beside your feet, tingling your nerves under the shade of the moon but you can't quite pinpoint what it is as the outline got merged with the shadows of the trees around. Draco stood up all of a sudden, bringing you up with him because your hands are still linked.

"I think not. Try again."

"Quit playing around, it's not funny!" You shuddered in irk and lifted your wand for guard. He did the same surprisingly.

"Expect something more obvious, can you? Lumos."

A ray of intense, blue-ish light sprayed off from the tip of his wand upon his mutter, illuminating a great deal of area around it in a snap.
Then your mouth gaped.

A pearly white horse stood gracefully between trees, its back fading into deep state of stygian. A stark horn resides firm on his forehead even though it can't be seen clearly as it's half-covered in fog and darkness, making it look like a horse that just ran onto random tree and ended up nailing a branch across its head.

Well this is the first time you've ever seen a unicorn in real life, you can't crane your jaw back to close just yet; heck if chances allow, you would dare yourself to try taming it and bring it back home to surprise Kim or make it ride you through the rainbows - but certainly this is not the right time to do, or even think so. It could ram you any second in such distance with that horn on.

Draco took a step back urgently and pulled you in front of him. He jerked his head to the creature. "Unicorns," He said in somewhat unconvincing tone, "tend to be fond of women's touch."

He's clearly not attempting to lift your jaw. "You're saying I have to approach and play with it..?! I thought you said I can't get blood from it by stroking its arse!"

"Just do it." He brushes his hand off and stepped far more behind, looking over his shoulder once in a while. "This'll go faster than you expected. I'll back you up."

Fear quickly sank your brain down, making you feel numb in instant. The feeling similar to what you had felt when your step mother found you lost her car key on your way back home from South Africa or when you had broken Mrs. Malfoy's luxurious vase in the manor and Draco saw it with a menacing look. Well maybe worse. You don't know what to do.
You're being faced with this one creature you just met today and you need to get its blood. But what are you supposed to do with it? It's not like it will say hi to you and then actually crashing itself onto a tree, ripping out fresh blood from its head for you to retrieve.

You worriedly throw sideways glance to Draco, opening your lips a bit as you're about ready to shout to him but decided to swallow your words after you sense the creature in front of you started to make the first move. The four stiff legs brings the creature out of its place, carefully inspecting you with its pair of glistening marble eyes as it gets closer
You looked at it straight in the eye. A silence stood hold. No point backing off now.
For a second there, it feels sincere and really peaceful. The wind, though draws your hair to the air even harder, feels a bit warmer and less uncomfortable than ever. The Unicorn sort of neighed, or whatever sound a Unicorn would produce; but in silence, then tilted its head.

"..uh. Hi?" You greeted. Realizing you can't get anymore dumber.

It didn't budge even slightly from there, but its eyes are locked still at you. You wonder if it sees you as food.
Then out of your consciousness, your right hand heaves on its own, slowly but steadily, reaching to the Unicorn's head. Your foot feels like it gaits forward on its own accord as well, not entirely on your will.
With a bit of shiver, the tip of your fore finger touched the lower jaw of the Unicorn's face; which feels, you immediately notice over your nervous state, really smooth and silky on your skin. Then it responds by moving closer to you. Its neigh -or again, a sound a Unicorn would make if other than that- can be heard clearly know, though really, really soft and faint.

But things happened really fast afterwards. You heard a line of brief spell being cried somewhere behind and shot directly at the Unicorn, nearly hitting your forefinger too which was at the moment the spell was casted, still linked with its skin. It's a blinding, rude blast that produces green lights and green wisps, whisking all over the area and sending you almost stumbling backwards. Grouching, you saw the creature backed off wildly in front, shrugging its horn in frenzy as it neighs, and slamming it to trees repeatedly.

"Draw your wand," Draco suddenly strode from behind, helping you lift yourself up from the grass and ran towards the fatigued, escape-attempting Unicorn. His wand is still emitting a strong light which seemed to grow in range now that he needs to be faster. He tried to cast another spell from the distance, but the thing dodged it rather easily and managed to run even farther across the forest. You can hear Draco swore loudly when his second shot yet again missed, complaining about magical creatures and tall grasses needing a thorough mowing.

You then followed brandishing your wand, without even have to think, casting a long, shooting Expelliarmus from the edge of it, narrowly pointing it at the far away Unicorn; and almost missing its target, the shone of light hit a small tree near it and actually cut it into two, the upper part falling grisly ontop of the unaware Unicorn. It was down on the grass the next second you caught a glimpse of it. Your lips parted in stun.

"Oue, nice hit," Draco commented from few miles away in surprise and amazement. You can feel the inside of you burning in relief. Lucky hit indeed.
"Come on, we'll move closer," He said, barely as loud as a shout, "And lit your wand, seriously, you don't possibly think training your eyes in the dark will earn you superpowers - I can't see where you are!"

You two approached the creature together with now two glowing wands. Upon the last sound of grass twisting that indicated Draco's step, you can see the pale Unicorn, still struggling miserably to free itself from the tree. For a second, you felt weird at the thought that you just did harm on a magical creature. A wild thought swarms in your mind - does by doing this meant you're a criminal?
Then out of your expectations, was a startling, brisking sound coming from thick bushes somewhere from the other side of the forest. It had a similar dark figure of a horse when it jumps nearer showing itself.

"Another?" You exchanged horror looks with Draco. Well there's no denying there are more than one Unicorn living in here. He had this terrified face that looked surprisingly eerie, what with the dim light from his wand under his neck as if he's about to tell you ghost stories in the dark.
The huge figure, now that it's running closer, can be seen more clearly, and as if the hopeless Unicorn gained more power from its reinforcement, it kicks the tree off his back and stomps its feet to the ground wildly, swooping its body up. Apparently its ready to fight back. And particularly because the horn looks like its pointing at you grudgingly.

"Stupefy!" Draco shot at the Unicorn before it charges, an instill of fear can be seen from his face which he seemed to try hard at controlling. The Unicorn cringes, and let out a somewhat heart breaking cry before marching on. You and Draco evasively dodged it to either side of its way, and casted another Stupefy spell together to the wild creature. But before one is even fully down, the other had appeared in the battleground. The Unicorn which just arrived to the spot attacked you from behind with its head, not sure if it used its horn, but your vision grows blurry within mili-seconds after it hit you on the shoulder. You hastily get to the nearest tree, the side of you heavily leaned to it.

"Cranked - you okay?" Draco asked from afar as he continues shooting spells at the first Unicorn which seems to be even more mad now. He swiftly moved from one tree to another to avoid getting stabbed by the angry horn, every four steps accompanied with at least a pair of cursing. You got up, shakily, then wandered your enlightened wand. There goes the other - it's right ahead of you. As if he's waiting for you to make an attack, it hides half of its body behind an enormous tree. Its eyes giving you a shrewd look that tempts you to return it.

Then you sneered. "What - after attacking me, this is what you do?"

You can see its silky tail wagging just after. Something made you not scared so more of the thing, and therefore making you continue to talk.
"When I was a kid, I was used to think magical creatures like you are irresistibly cute. But now you made me came to realize the ugly reality of fairy tales, being the legend you are."

"Quit playing around, it's not funny!!" Draco urged in anger as he busy himself looping from tree to tree from afar. The one in front of you appears to be agitated after what seemed to be a realization that you just tried to provoke it, and began to move out of his hiding. It lowered its forehead threateningly.

"Look, but I need your blood, okay? Expelliarmus!" You shot up and tried to disarm it with a roar. But it missed, and it again hit a tree; how you hoped it would fell like before but when you waited for it to split into two, it didn't even move, resulting a great amused neigh -if not a guffaw- coming from your target. You can feel your ears heating up of annoyance. It slides its front left leg on the ground before rushing towards you. Wearily, you felt it seems to be aiming for your face. You dodged a few times as he stormed through and continued to cast Expelliarmus until both Unicorns let out an ear-deafening screech in unison.

"Expelliarmus!"
"Stupefy!"

With left hand pushing deep into the ear to prevent it explode of the screech, you and Draco casted spells at the same time. But none of you ironically succeeded at hitting any of the targets; the rays of spells just went through their body as if they were invisible and hit the trees instead in a big boom. Such mess you both had made.

"What the-? What happened?" You skipped fast between trees, approaching Draco. He looked bewildered for one moment. Then for the next, and a quick one, he picked up a stone as big as his palm from the ground and shot it at you at astounding speed.
You're shocked, but also in relief of your reflexes of evading it. It narrowly misses your left cheek.
"You would want to mind watching it one of these days!" You shouted infuriatedly at him, but after more slow understanding of the situation, his throw was actually aimed at one of the Unicorns which was just heading your way from behind for a powerful horn attack. "Oh, really, now?!" You can hear him shout back in more anger.

But not in another second, the other Unicorn alarmingly marches towards him as you looked. You casted an Expelliarmus to it before Draco had time to realize, and it hit it this time - it quickly fell out of the way, seems to be collapsing all of a sudden.
Neither of you actually noticed the Unicorn Draco just threw with the stone didn't bother with the pain on its head and continue driving its head to your back then.

"Vallerie!!"

Not even realizing what had happened because everything went so fast after, you stumbled onto the ground, finding yourself wheezing heavily as if in terrible asthma.
Everything in the view of your eyes swirls; and steadily gets blurrier. You can't see clearly. There's a chilling sensation somewhere around your neck, and you can barely make out a dark, tall figure of Draco over the grasses, running towards you from afar.

You tried to lift your eyelid, harder as ever when you heard your name vividly being called by Draco. His shadow seems to be frolicking about, accompanied with the other two shadows belonged to the Unicorns.
But you didn't know what happened. You just feel dizzy. And everything went oddly black after.
