"Wait.. is that?"
You came out from the bus you just stepped in after a moment staring at that one particular person who's currently running to your direction right now not far from the bus station.
..Yup. You ain't got it wrong. That snotty, stubborn friend of yours is right there on her jet.
"Don't tell me you ran all the way from Radford Way to here!?" You gasped in dismay as she arrived in front of you, panting.
"Well -pant- whaddaya know. Better let me -pant- sit on the bus quick, else you want me to -pant- pass out from exhaustion here!"
You quickly dragged her to the bus to prevent further delay of your departing and let her rest beside you in the bus.
Today is the day you're gonna be quarantined to Hogwarts; you prefer to call it that way. You hate being late, thus why you're waking up earlier this morning and rushed to the bus station to get to the train station. Never ever came to your expectation that this hose will come around just in time before you got away there, on her feeble feet.
"Chasing me down all the way here; you're not going to Hogwarts too, are you?"
"'Course not, numbnuts!" Kim wriggled on her seat, trying to get a good position as she pulled off a huge pack of chips from her sack, complaining loudly about not having a breakfast. "Agrias is where I permanently nailed to. Just want to see my little Valley away when she depart, that's all."
Oh, how you love her for this. She sure understands you more than anyone else that you need a companion when you're on your way there. Unlike your step parents, despite them ironically, being the person who supposed to understand you the most.
"Where did they go?"
"Dad's off to work after he drove me here, and mom's got chores with her as per usual." You sighed.
"At least you got me here." She chortled through seasoning-covered lips. "I'm all sobbing to see you go though, figuring that you have no one else to do it for you. Sure hope you bring enough tissues."
You chuckled, and both of you enjoyed the coarse trip to the train station. After the bus had come to a long halt you saw a big wooden, half-peeling plaque outside that reads 'King's Cross', you immediately woke your lousy friend from her snore, grab all your bags and knick-knacks off the bus and quickly make your way across the crowd, seeing as even though you believe that you've been a good morning person lately, you still find yourself almost late now.
"The train will leave at approximately 11, just a few minutes from now. I'd love it if you could pace your step steadily." You said to Kimberly who helped you bring some of your hefty baggages out of the bus.
"What platform are we heading to again?"
You pulled a scrap of tattered paper out of your jacket as you keep on walking. "Uh..."
"..what is it?"
"Nine and three quarters."
"Come again?"
"Platform nine and three quarters." You repeated just as confused. "It said so here."
"What kind of messed up japery is that?"
Realizing that you don't have much time left, you just skimmed through the station as fast as your feet can handle and found yourself scrambled as there are no such thing as the aforementioned platform. You went through barriers and saw platform nine and ten just good, with rows of people waiting for the train arrival, but when you retraced your steps back to see if you had missed one, all you find was no more than an empty dividing barrier between the two crowded platforms.
Just when your eyes were done scanning through the station hopelessly, you saw a group of people passes behind you.
"Did you see that?
He threw the Quaffle with his Nimbus Two Thousand Two, swooping through the unguarded hoops and then the whole stadium cheered - even the supporters of the opposite group shot out confetti; no doubt he has packs of fans. His team had won matches more than 21 times in a row with him in."
"The crowd is getting really noisy and so are you, Ron.
Really, you should be caring more to that broken wand of yours. I told you times it wasn't good to poke the garden gnomes with it, and your ears just flapping about."
There were four boys; two seemed to be a twin, and there's a girl about your age between them. They're all red-haired, holding their carriage in large trunks and walk casually until you suddenly saw one of the boys speed up and run through the wall of the empty barrier you had been hanging around.
"Wh- did you see that, Kim?!" You screeched as he disappears from your sight after he runs to the brick walls, not even leaving a slight view.
"They must be talking about the Quidditch World Cup yesterday. Sure reminded you of Victor Krum, eh?"
"Oh how you suffer- I meant the boy! Did you see him run through the wall just now?"
"..? Heck no. Did he?" Oh Kimberly.
You walked cautiously, approaching the wall he just went through with confusion, as - well, it isn't normal, is it. You poked your hand out and patted the wall in case it's some kind of jello in disguise, but no; it's thick, cold and hard too.
"You go first." Said the girl from the group who gestures you to go ahead of her after whispering faintly to the boys.
"..what?"
"Go on, through the portal." Said the other boy.
If what they meant as a portal is this freaking well-stacked brick in front of you, then it's whether them or you being clogged up here. You glanced at Kim, giving her a weird look but she doesn't seem to be capable of translating it properly. Well, you can't really blame her, as perhaps part of her mind is still on her slumber back in the bus. Her eyes are spacing out to this group of dudes in front of you.
"Or are you not going to Hogwarts? Weird though, as seeing those hefty trunks you got. If that's the case we'll just-"
"Wa-wait, yeah I'm going to Hogwarts!" You jumped up before they enter the what they called as portal in the same way as one of them did earlier. "But you see, I need to find this platform number 9 whatsoever and I can't seem to find it anywhere in this station."
The twin laughed. ..did you just say something funny?
"Platform Nine and Three Quarters." One of them corrected with a cheerful face. His eyes looking at you amusedly.
"Well as a matter of fact, you're facing it already - the platform you've been lingering for."
"You mean the..?"
The girl slipped one side of her hair to back of her left ear and clacks her trolley forward, pulling you alongside her without further talking. The other boys lined perfectly before you. "We'll be late if we don't hurry now, lads. Mom's had Disapparated first back to home, she'll be busied with the ghoul at the attic wreaking havoc; and obviously she wouldn't be delighted if she know we missed the train. C'mon, say goodbye to your friend. Or she's leaving as well?"
That word seems to slap Kimberly up from her world. Thank god she's alive now.
She fidgeted and fluttered on her spot seeing that you're about to get abducted by this peculiar-seeming ginger-haired gang, but albeit her frightened state, she gave you your belongings anyway and took a few steps backward after moments of deep contemplating.
"..-wait, Val."
As if she just remembered something, she quickly rummaged through her things in her tote.
"Just in case you need a companion."
She lifted up her hand; that Harrods 14" bobbly jumper teddy bear from last night is in her grip. She handed it to you. "Take good care of it."
"Thanks." You gave her a light smile and pushed the teddy down your holdall, one of your hands still tugged tight by the female stranger.
"Don't worry, miss. Your friend is save in our hands!" One of the twin hasted. Kim nodded hesitantly to him, seemingly trying to look convinced but failed. "Well ..I'll miss you, Val!"
She smiled, half-hearted if you may say, and you returned the smile with a slight wave of your plumby hand.
Weird enough, you chanced to see her exchange weird glances with some of the red-hairs behind you.
But never mind that; you decided to just concentrate on this rather more serious matter with you at the present.
"Alright, got no time left; need to go through all at once. Pace the horses up!" One of the boys hooted.
They pushed you from behind along with the girl beside you, forcing you to keep up with the speed and close your eyes as you get closer to the wall.
You could only hope you don't mess things up and smack your face flat to the thing.

Sorry it's kinda long and boring xD
The red-haired gang is obviously the Weasleys there, without Bill, Charlie, Arthur and her wife Molly. The two oldest son of the Weasleys had already got their way into the train by then.
Fyi, the one guy who went into the portal to Platform Nine and Three Quarters before the others is Ron, so that leaves his brothers and sister there tagging you along with them. He wants to catch up with Harry who already got through the entrance before him ;)
Will be writing the next part ~
